Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

Part B Services

Any child that received Early Intervention services could be eligible for ECSE services. This is a program through the local public school district for children with disabilities or that have a developmental delay.

Children ages 3 - 5 years old, who have a disability or developmental delay that meets the eligibility criteria per State may qualify for Part B Services.    Location for these services are provided in regular education environments depending on the child's needs these services could take place elsewhere depending on the use of supplementary aids and services cannot be provided.

If a child qualifies for ECSE services (Part B) an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed by the Local Education Team and Parents.  This document describes how the student learns and specific educational goals.
